Whilst Positive Ways are ordinarily focused on helping clients move forward quickly, their experience of dealing with grief and bereavement has led them to conclude that a more gentle, slow and even more empathetic is suitable for dealing with grief. This experience enables them to identify that grief comes in two parts.
Part 1 – the shock and trauma of losing a loved one, which can be calmed down suitably as early on in the process as possible.
Part 2 – acclimatising to the loss of the dreams, comfort and sadness associated with the loss of a loved one. This can be confusing and unsettling for the bereaved who may suffer a whole gamut of emotions as described by Kubler-Ross in the diagram.
Positive Ways will always make a gentle and careful assessment of the situation and agree a way forward with their client.
